KwaZulu-Natal Hella Hella ride (04 Dec 06) Five KLR 650s, one KLE 500 and a lonely KTM 640 Adventure set off on a 350 km ride through Richmond, Hella Hella, Bulwer, Elandskop, and Byrne Valley, then back through Richmond to the Bull & Wheel opposite Baynesfield Estate near 'Maritzburg for lunch. The dirt roads and scenery were awesome, and the tar stretches in-between gave us a chance to stretch our bikes' legs. At Byrne Valley we made a short detour up the side of a mountain, to vist Fritz Kellerman and see how his collection of ancient stationary engines and tractors is coming along. Old Kawasaki racer Mike Grant enjoyed his maiden ride on the green KLR he bought from KMSA's Chris Speight, and he reckons he's fallen in love with the beast. Anybody want to buy a ZX7, one careful owner?
We want to do about one ride a month. Ring Gavin Foster on 083-6578241 or drop a line to gavin@kawasaki.co.za if you live in KZN and wish to join us. Ideas for rides always welcome.
